Vice President Rice?

You think hardcore conservatives hate Sen. McCain now? Just imagine if he selects Condoleezza Rice to be his Vice President. I can’t see it happening, but who knows? I’m cynical enough to believe that the Republicans might try to “one up” the Democrats by throwing a black woman into the mix. Why she would want to align herself with a man who calls his wife the c-word and voted against the Martin Luther King holiday (oh, but he’s sorry NOW that he’s running for president. Whatever) is beyond me, though. On the other hand, after working for Bush all these years, she’s probably become used to ignoring those pesky particulars.

Quote of the day on the matter from Melissa:

On the other hand, this possibility makes me want, more than I can possibly express, a joint Clinton-Obama (in alphabetical order; settle down!) ticket on the Democratic side, and a McCain-Rice ticket on the Republican side, just to watch Chris Matthews’ head explode on live television as he tries to figure out for whom black women are going to vote, using the typically nuanced and carefully calculated voting theory he applies to everyone but straight white men (because we all know they vote on issues): “That one look like me! Me votey!”

I’d tune in to that.

I have to admit that I (evilly) relish the thought of a McCain-Rice ticket simply so that I can tell a few Hillary supporters, who have been harassing me for supporting Obama, that I plan to vote Republican so that I can vote for a woman in the White House.

No, no, I’m just kidding. But let’s just say it’s been a long, long primary season.

    Tell me about it…

I shudder at the thought of Rice being a heart beat away from the presidency.

If people are supporting for Clinton solely because of gender or Barack Obama soley for the color of his skin, another candidate in the field carries both torches.

Cynthia McKinney, seeking the Green Party nomination, as a black woman represents an enticing opportunity to break from the conventional mainstream politics of triangulation and electioneering.

As a white male, I plan to nominate her at the Green Party convention in Chicago.

    Solidarity,
    Rebel Pundit

Nice, Rebel Pundit. Cynthia McKinney is still on my radar as who I will vote for in the general.
